Everyone dreams of traveling to Europe, and there’s a reason why. Whether you’re taking a solo trip, backpacking on a budget, or wanting to explore new cities and cultures, Europe has something for everyone.
Europe is one of the most diverse continents you can visit with deep-rooted history and a melting pot of culture from all over the world. So, what are you waiting for?
If you’re backpacking through Europe, the best time to travel is during the offseason. From November to March, you will easily find cheap flights and hotels slash their prices.
However, then winter comes around and it is one of the busiest times of the year for people planning a ski vacation or wanting to experience the Christmas Markets in Germany, Croatia, or Austria.
The busiest time of year is summer in Europe. From June to August, travelers from all over the world flock to the region to soak up the good weather and beautiful beaches.
If you’re planning a trip during these months, book as much of it as you can in advance. Flights and hotels, in these months, can triple in prices!
Eastern Europe is made up of Belarus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. It’s a cheaper destination for budget travelers, and some of its top historical attractions include the Prague Castle, the State Hermitage Museum, and Auschwitz.
Northern Europe is known for its natural phenomena – the Northern Lights. If you want to see them, you’ll need to visit in the winter when conditions are at their best. Some of the countries that make up this region include Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Southern Europe is made up of all the countries close to the Mediterranean and most of the Balkan countries. Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro are some of the most visited destinations in the region. They are all known for their incredible sailing, natural wonders, and ancient histories.
