If you read any of my other posts about Budapest, (PS: check Budapest Travel guide, or Best destinations to visit as a couple), you know that Budapest is one of my favorite cities in the whole world.
The city has everything, people are amazing, and the food is even better. Budapest always has a place that is hidden and needs to be explored even if you have visited Budapest for the 10th time.
But not to hold you any longer, let us dive into my 10 Things to do and see in Budapest!
The most iconic attraction and place in the whole of Budapest are the Lions Bridge, most of the photos on social media or anywhere will be of the Lions Bridge when looking at Budapest.
Once visited you will easily see why the bridge is amazing with two lions guarding the entrance of the Bridge, you will surely make a nice picture.
Hungarian Parliament in Budapest is one the biggest parliament building in the whole world, but also it is absolutely stunning.
Hungarian parliament building can be toured from inside on scheduled tours, so be sure to check them out if you wish to visit Parliament building from the inside.
Looking for where to eat in Budapest? This is the place. Kispiac Biztro is a small 20 person restaurant that only servers local authentic Hungarian dishes in a family restaurant. The food, drinks, and ambient are amazing, so be sure to put this place on your bucket list when visiting.
Buying souvenirs is a must when traveling anywhere, but buying souvenirs in one of the most historic and iconic buildings in Budapest is something else.
Budapest Centar Market is a Centar market for all of the city, and it is located in the city center and it is always packed with people buying groceries and fresh ingredients. You will find a lot of souvenirs there, but be sure to grab paprika as a souvenir.
Climbing up to Fisherman’s Bastion will give you the best view of Budapest and you will be able to grab some amazing memories there.
Fisherman’s Bastion is located on the other side of Lion’s Bridge and is usually very crowded, but you will have an easy time finding a secret spot to look over Budapest and grab some amazing photos.
Located on the Buda part of Budapest, Buda Castle is located around 10 minutes walking from Fisherman’s Bastion.
It is a huge complex od building that has an amazing view over Budapest similar to Fisherman’s Bastion, so if you are willing to take a quick stroll from Fisherman’s Bastion to Buda Castle be sure to do so.
After a huge meal at Kispiac Biztro, you will have to eat a dessert, and one of the best spots to do is Mr. Funk’s donut shop. They have some of the best donuts that I have ever tried.
Being Budapest is one of the most romantic cities in the world (in my opinion), Sailing the Danube at night is the prime thing to do with your loved one.
Looking at the Hungarian Parliament, Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion all light up at night is an amazing fell and you will surely like it. Be sure to book ahead so that you have a sure spot.
St. Stephen’s Basilica is located in the city center of Budapest, and 99% of the time you will see people taking pictures and joking around in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica, mostly because there is a huge open space right at the entrance to it. Also for a fee, you will be able to go inside or climb to the top if you wish.
Taking a bath and relaxing at Szecheny Thermal Baths is one of the best things to do after a whole day of walking around Budapest. The Thermal baths are amazing and can be visited all year round. The prices are a little bit high but I think they are totally worth it.
